 Take 4 beats to get to the 7th of the next chord.  Using a chromatic Major, minor, and dominant scale, respectively to the chord, descend to the 3rd of a ii-V-I progression, here in G. See how the 3rd of ii is the 7th of V, the 3rd of V is the 7th of I. Cool!
